Another way of explaining or at least witnessing what happens is to see huge numbers of short desperately bashing a stock after it has run up. Often times they will make up entry points close to the high of the day to give the impression that they are clairvoyant and already making money. They will then say things like "big deal, it's just a computer without a keyboard." or "it's a POS" or "it's a pig" all these are signs of a short squeeze. Hope that helps.
