PalWeb Plastic Pallets Excel in Independent Testing DALLAS, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- PalWeb Corporation (Pink Sheets: PAEB), recently announced test results for its rackable, plastic pallet. PalWeb's subsidiary, Plastic Pallet Production, Inc., manufactures and markets a new line of pallets. The firm intends to capitalize on the worldwide trend for increased plastic pallet use. For comparison to industry standards, PalWeb submitted their proprietary, two-piece plastic pallets for independent testing. Container Technologies Laboratory, Inc., an engineering, research and testing firm in Lenexa, Kansas, employed a battery of six tests on the PalWeb pallet. Transportation Simulation Testing standards per ASTM D 1185-98a and D 4728-91 were used. ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) is a criteria of standards that have been established for testing the integrity of a vast number of American products. The test results of the PalWeb pallet are included in the laboratory's Pallet Test Report #714, which can be found on the company web site, www.palweb.net. A number of dynamic tests were conducted to estimate physical durability and functionality. Resonance, transport vibration, and pothole shock tests did not damage the PalWeb pallet. Robert Stevens, Laboratory General Manager, writes, "Some pallets can become so rigid that they will cause the freight to be beat up but this pallet softened the ride of the freight and will work well in most distribution environments." During impact test conditions, Stevens observes, "The anti-skid pads on the pallet worked well. At impact ... the pads kept the weight box from sliding forward and impacting the backstop." Further, static compression and bending tests were used to estimate stiffness. According to the report, the PalWeb model suffered no structural damage that would adversely affect the safe transportation of product under static test conditions that would strain wood pallets beyond practical use. In his overall assessment, Mr. Stevens concludes, "This two-piece design pallet will have many applications for industry. I found it to be stronger and more versatile than the typical hardwood pallet." Commenting on the test results, Ronald Hale, President of Plastic Pallet Production, Inc., says, "Meeting these industry benchmarks affirms our product development. We are increasing production output to meet market demand, complementing the global shift from wooden to plastic pallets. These tests substantiate our product performance claims and are expected to provide additional sales opportunities for our pallets."
