I think we should wait to see what the true story is, if we will ever hear it. One line goes that the gun was traded for coke (not the type you drink) and the kid found it wrapped in a blanket.

My point was that Fieger is a slime bag of the first order for acting the way he did.

Clearly, letting a 6 year old have any access to a gun is damn dangerous and may be criminally negligent in this case. But I started being taught about guns at that age and I can't imagine my Dad losing track of a gun and its position for a micro second when I was around. I had my "own" gun by age 9, although, I didn't have semi-unsupervised use until age 11 when I passed the firearms safety course the local police taught. Getting unquestioned access to all the guns whenever I wanted happened 2 years later and I was hunting deer.

I don't think that timeline is all that unusual for that day, or this, and believe it is more an issue of raising a decent child. I'll let you draw your conclusions about why we are seeing this type of behaviour now.

Bottom line is it wouldn't happen if the gun wasn't where the kid could get to it.

Very well said!
