I don't know how long I will be on, but I thought I would say hi. My projects have been backed up because I have been ill, on less, and doing less when on. I hope to master the stuff we were discussing before the month is out, though.....

Michael, I have been a Texan since January, 1942, and I am, justifiably, proud of that. We have had periods of great honor, and admittedly, times of which we have had reason to be ashamed of what some of us have done but, the administration of GW is one of the proud chapters of our history. If everyone will recall, one of Barbara Bush's main issues was that every child be taught to read, regardless of race, creed, sex, or social standing. Reading is the key to all other branches of education, and is the first step to academic excellence. That, alone, is a great platform to run on but, he has many more planks worthy of attention. McCain jumped on Pat Robertson because of the phone calls made to voters in Michigan. What the press tries to "soft pedal" is that the McCain camp did the same thing with more damning words than Robertson's. The worst thing about it all, is that McCain denied that he knew anything about the calls, but under the pressure of proof, he had to admit that he had been involved. Call it what you want, that was a lie, and it happened about two different events. Maybe the Clinton administration has convinced some people that it is "politically correct" to lie, but let's hope they are in the minority among voters. Don't get me totally wrong, I do not think Pat Robertson should have made those phone calls but, at least he owned up to it right away, and did not have to be forced, by the burden of proof, to do so like McCain. ~;=;o --haqi
