Gomez Advisors Reveals Results of Spring 2000 Internet Auto Manufacturer
Scorecard Isuzu, Honda, GM Take Home Top Honors

LINCOLN, Mass., Mar 1, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Gomez Advisors, the
leading portal provider for B2C and B2B e-commerce, today announced the results
of its Spring 2000 Internet Auto Manufacturer Scorecard. Analysis suggests that
robust, customer-focused Web sites with available online informational resources
set the leading manufacturers apart from the rest of the industry.

Sliding up from fourth place last quarter, Isuzu seized the crown for the top
spot overall, with soaring scores in the Ease of Use and Customer Confidence
categories, and the Serious Shopper and First-Time Buyer customer profiles.
Following very closely behind by just one-hundredth of a point is Honda, sliding
up from last quarter's sixth place. Trailing in the number three spot, and
moving up eleven notches since last quarter, is GM with its breadth of tools and
information and all-star customer service team.

"The online car industry is growing at an exponential rate. As Internet car
sales continue to rise, traditional brick and mortar auto manufacturers will
need to make significant investments in their online offerings to attract and
retain customers," said Adam Weiner, Senior Analyst at Gomez Advisors. "Critical
to many consumers are impeccable customer service, competitor comparison tools,
vehicle price quote submission capabilities, and online credit applications to
speed up the process. Although the market for online car buying continues to
evolve and grow, we're just beginning to see the tip of the iceberg. The
industry still has quite a way to go to truly delight consumers."

Gomez forecasts 10.5 million new and used car sales will be initiated via the
Internet by 2002, a colossal market increase over 1999's volume of 1.5 million,
resulting in $144 billion of new and used auto sales initiated via the Internet.
