I agree. Saw a show last night, besides the one that reminded me of booger, about cold water drowning. The issue was how well they would recover considering brain damage, especially memory.

The young kids had an advantage due to youth, strength, etc. but were limited as a full human from there on out due to what they had learned prior to the event. The older folks, a guy about 34 was the example, were quite a bit more "functional" because the brain had imprinted all the prior knowledge, social interaction, etc..

12 sounds good to me for most people on the basics. From there on out it is the finer points like realizing Slick is a slime ball. heck, most adults hadn't realized this a few years ago. -g-
