Bruno, I was in to visit Ritz camera today.

They have just purchased a new FujiFilm film processor which they plan to configure to accept CompactFlash cards. This is a chemical developing process that will also be used to develop standard 35mm emulsion film. The manager told me that in the coming months he expects to have mixtures of "film, CompactFlash cards, floppies and Zip discs" coming down the line to be developed. This machine will handle anything that comes along. He also expects digital camera sales to equal or surpass SLR/point-and-shoot sales in 2000 and that they "came close" to this achievement during the last holiday season.

A whole new paradigm for photo developing is evolving as we speak.

Bruno, The Diamond Multimedia/SIII press release doesn't mention the storage form factor.

I suspect this device with be a SDMI compliant SDMC device. These devices are backwards compatible with MMC.

Does anybody here think that SNDK will announce a type I and type II MMC form factor. That is, the standard MMC and an MMC with the exact dimensions of SDMC without the security features???

Perhaps this would be too confusing for the general public.
