Re: If they were going to lose it anyway why not bait AMD into jumping the gun on their 1GHz release and make AMD look like they were unreliable and unable to deliver as well. Intel had nothing to lose because they were losing it anyway. But AMD has an improving reputation to protect. I desperately hope that they scoff at this release and stay the course.... I think you're right. I wish AMD would hang tight and announce only what they can ship in volume. But what do I know. At this point I'm inclined to trust the management that has brought AMD so far, so soon. As an in-house-design X86 company, AMD is what, six years old? And they have Intel thrashing around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Dan
