ELON--PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2000--Echelon Corporation (Nasdaq:ELON) the leader in networking everyday devices, announced today that it is showcasing LONWORKS(R) networks in the home at the first annual Electronic House Expo in Orlando, Fla., March 2nd through 5th.

Sponsored by the Home Automation Association and EH Publishing (publisher of industry journals such as Electronic House, CEPro, and Popular Home Automation), Electronic House Expo is the only dedicated, stand-alone trade event in North America focused on the market opportunities of "The Connected Home."

In its booth (number 300) Echelon is demonstrating how LONWORKS networks provide the complete open, interoperable platform needed to network everyday devices such as appliances, lighting, heating, and security systems in the home and provide valuable new services through the Internet.

A recent market study by Allied Business Intelligence forecasts that the Residential Networks and Home Automation Subsystem industry will reach $6.2 billion in revenues by 2005.
