I agree, the news is extremely good. There is many a slip, of course, but so much for the anticipation of irrecoverable damage to Congressional Republicans, which I spent loads of time trying to disabuse the knuckleheads about, to no avail......

Here are some other interesting numbers this week from the Washington Post:

51% percent of respondents agree, "I'm just plain tired of Bill Clinton", in spite of continued high job performance ratings (57%);

They are evenly divided on whether or not Gore is too close to Clinton, 49% to 49%;

Although 43% say it will make no difference, and 10% day that they don't know, more people (31%) say they are less likely to vote for Gore because of Clinton than say they are more likely because of Clinton (26%).........
