fixated on irrelevancies Why do you use a word like irrelevancy? Don't you know that it is a half-assed fake word? It is only in the dictionaries because too many people watching PBS and slurping Starbucks as they drive their Volvos with the "Save the whales" license plates heard it from some other pseudo-intellectual. In linguistics, this is called "back formation". Other examples are "to notate" and "to conversate"...one that you might find relevant is "to idiotate".
