The only way AMD comes out a BIG winner (i.e. $100+ share price) is if:
1). "sweet spot" moves higher AND
2). AMD is able to produce these chips in volume AND
3). Intel is not able to produce these chips in volume

Observing the current situation in the market:
1). that's a given. That's what Intel's market dominance is based on. If you can get more (MHz) for the same amount of money (over time), nobody will say no
2). very likely
3). very likely as well

It may change over time, but we will know that from observing reality, not from reading press releases, announcements or pre-announcement.

AMD historically had a low credibility, but has been improving lately. Intel has had a lot of credibility, but Intel is losing credibility quickly. Which company is more credible?

I don't know. We may be at a crossover.

Historically, AMD has always been behind - one or 2 speed grades, and still managed to survive. Now AMD is ahead 1 - 2 speed grades. Suppose Intel catches up, and achieves parity?

That's still better than the situation in the past, where AMD was 2 speed grades behind.
