AlGore is known ... No, you have it confused with Naughty Newt Gingrich. Al Gore's the guy who recognized the importance of technology and communications early on. He managed to convince Clinton to open up many regulations on cable, and wire companies, even though it was Clinton's nature to enforce price limitations for cable service. He also championed more commercialization of military technology, like spread spectrum communications (which has dumped so many millions of QCOM dollars in our pockets this year). TP
