Earth in the Balance
I haven't read the book either, I wouldn't try to form an opinion from selected excerpts. (I should look a copy of this post I got once with excerpts from the bible, take the right sentences and string them together and it got real funny).

!! RNC ACTIVIST ALERT !!
*** Think Gas Prices are High NOW? ***
*** Wait Until Al Gore's 65-Cent-A-Gallon Kyoto Gas Hike ***

Pay at the Pump. Gas prices have shot up six cents per gallon in the past two weeks - causing the price of a gallon of regular gas to top $1.40
[ ed. 1.55 here]. No doubt that's bad. But if Al Gore's elected president - to steal a line from Ronald Reagan: "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" Gore is counting the days until he can make his far-left friends happy and sign his reckless Kyoto Global Climate Treaty. According to the highly respected and independent Wharton group, Gore's treaty will set off a flurry of new energy taxes - and will force gas prices to skyrocket 65-cents-a-gallon.

Home Heating Oil Blues. Wharton warns prices at the pump won't be the only thing to jump - home heating oil bills will leap a whopping 73 percent. A couple of weeks ago, Energy Secretary Bill Richardson admitted Clinton and Gore "were caught napping" by the recent hikes on heating oil bills, but we'll really find ourselves in a deep freeze if Gore's energy taxes are added.

Good for China, Bad for Carolina. Wharton estimates Gore's treaty will push 2.4 million Americans into the unemployment lines - while letting China, India and over 100 other countries off the hook. Find out how bad Gore socks your state by logging onto: rnc.org <http://www.rnc.org/kyoto> .

Sure, Mikey. Anti-abortion, anti-environment, just the way to position the "big tent" party for W to try to patch together, after he's done sucking up to the holy rollers.
