LAN/t

Good question Lola. The quick answer about DS is "I don't care." The participation is so wide that I will ride it until it dies.

LAN has been around for awhile and who knows what the heads at DS think. Maybe they hold a room full of this paper. I do not know their motivation.

Plaintree is one of the few pieces of gear that I have worked with. Their WaveSwitches were state of the art 5 years ago. They were one of the first players in the fibre optic topology market. However, they committed to proprietary technology that, while it allowed 100 MegaBit burst rates over 10 MegaBit competitors, was nonetheless proprietary -- not a good idea.

I was whipped out of LAN at 1.04 -- too tight stop, but I was so worried about the gap below $1. I put another trade on when it broke and will ride it as long as it stays valid. I do consider it risky as it is a company trying to reposition themselves in an open-architecture market, but the response to the financial statements was heartening so maybe they have turned the corner.

God know there is chit out there with half the potential of Plaintree traded at twice the price. We'll see. Right now my stop is at the close of the first day of the run.
