Oh, you are not crazy at all....I share your frustration. Especially watching all of the up $28's, up $60's...etc, we have been seeing. That worries me more than EMC sitting still.

I am building up some cash right now.

My concern with EMC is the lack of new product announcements. Since I've held the stock the new product cycle has almost always been with the fourth quarter earnings announcement. If memory serves me, concern over this was mentioned in the conference call. If Ruettgers and Co. don't come forward soon with new product announcements, I fear a lowering of stock price is inevitable. Then again, it is not uncommon to see EMC trade in a range and then blast out of it dramatically. Hopefully this is one of those ranges and we are just staging for the next launch.

I'm not looking for the same growth in EMC that I am in JDSU or NTAP. EMC was the NTAP/JDSU of the 90's, along with DELL & CSCO.

It's a more mature company now, with less percentage growth going forward. It's a Tech blue chip, where P/E, where PEG ratios actually matter.

I'll be happy with 50% for '00 from EMC.

I invested equal amounts in EMC (Jan., '99) and JDSU (April, '99), so I know what the difference between "up & comers" versus "been there, done that(s)".

In fact, the same amount invested in NTAP in December has already caught the prior year's growth in EMC.

I don't expect them all to be screamers, but I like EMC's steady growth prospects for the future. Two months is just a snapshot for me.
