I feel so inadequate posting on this board, because I am not knowledgeable.

However I couldn't think of a better board to post this info and ask a question, so please bear with me.

Somewhere along the line I read that George Gilder has come across the ultimate spectronics company. It is a private company that recently signed an agreement with a world leader (US) wireless infrastructure supplier. From what I have read, this supplier is not Lucent or NT nor is it Ericsson, Siemens, or Alcatel.

This privately held company has the first multi-point full cellular wireless optical system (many gigabits per sec) using infrared wireless. Gilder predicted 90% penetration within six mos. of a March announcement. He also said that companies spending monies on microwave are in trouble.

Does any of this ring a bell with you, and if so, what is the name of the private company? Any hints you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Now I will go back to lurking. I really enjoy this board, despite my lack of knowledge. I just keep the dictionary by my side!

Thank you,

Merylee
