I'm not sure about the specifics of your s/w but you can theoretically do all the following:

buy calls to open
sell calls to close

(or exercise calls--but you call your broker to do that)

buy puts to open
sell puts to close

sell calls to open
buy calls to close

(you can sell naked calls which are considered uncovered. I don't sell naked calls and don't know anyone who does so with any regularity. It's really risky)

sell puts to open
buy puts to close
