my perception is that GW is the puppet, and others pull the strings...he obviously does not have the intellect, but he sure has a strong desire to make Poppa proud...

First of all, it is the president and on up. unless you are monica.

Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that the interest rate in Japan is zero? Why pay down long term debt when you can borrow money at zero interest and sell it for 6 percent interest? You would be in favor of using your cash to buy back your coupons?

As for the surplus, pessimists keep saying no surplus, while economists keep raising the amount of the surplus.

Finally, your message betrays your confusion. You are replying to a post that criticizes the candidate with the largest tax cut agenda for his tax cuts being too small. And your attack is based on your statement that government will continue to be corrupt as long as people overpay their taxes. Clarification is not necessary.

Dipy, What in hades are you talking about? Clinton has been bragging for over a year about the largest surplus in history that he is taking credit for. Gore has also mentioned it. If Clinton says there is no surplus, why is he bragging about one? Oh, I know. By next January he will have spent it all for pork barrels. ~H~
