<Thank you for the explanantion which basically admits that AMD RUSHED the AthWIPEY into production.>

My explanation admits no such thing, In fact I think I state that the Athlon is a well thought out balanced design (read NOT rushed) You are free to make any interpretation that you like but please don't put words in my mouth.

<Thanks to AMD's inability to achieve HIGH SPEED at REASONABLE POWER - like Intel did - AMD is prevented from selling in to the High Performance Notebook market segment - the MOST LUCRATIVE segment (short of Servers and Workstations).>

The whole point that I was trying to make was that AMD has achieved HIGH SPEED and they will continue to improve on the power (which is already at reasonable levels). They have already reduced power requirements once. Spitfire is supposed to require even less power and Mustang will again require less. These improvements are architectural and do not include process improvements. Again I repeat the claim which I originally made to Yousef: AMD will bring the Athlon core to laptops. If you are counting them out of the laptop market with regard to the Athlon core then I think you are mistaken. We will see.

Thanks,

Epinephrine
