As a lot of people of this thread knew AMD had the capability a while back. I think AMD was planning this launch in April with the assumption that Intel would have to wait for the new mask to get any reasonable volumes on 1G CuMines. This is about a month pull-in on the marketing schedule.

A few months back when I posted about how yields were and a lot of people doubted me - especially when I said 1.2-1.4G in Q3 and about 1.7G in Q4. Now, I doubt if anyone doubts that scenario anymore.

AMD is still cruising - there is capability to do substantially higher MHz launch in a month if the need be.
