The typical pattern of Softbank price movement with a sharp rise followed by a period of consolidation seems to still be in place. This last rise from around $1000 year end to as high as $1700 in February was even steeper than usual so this pullback and consolidation around $1300 should not be too surprising and not a cause for panic.

The Japanese press did seem to express some negative views toward the Softbank acquisition of the NCB (and I think some other banking interests). I am trusting in Son's vision on the structure of the Company with it's mix of internet and conventional old world investments. He is effectively freeing up the entire Japanese economy towards a wide open free system. This will be healthy for the whole Japanese economy and is probably just what is needed to get things moving again. It may be difficult for Softbank to continue with the massive gains in market capitalizations beyond this year. I will be quite happy with the Lehman forecast of 400,000 yen if they can achieve it this year.
