imminent collapse
Collapse does not happen everywhere at once. It would likely happen here, the richest most advanced place in the world, last. There are plenty of warning signs, The fishing industry of the huge lake Bikal collapsed when industrial waste was discharged into the breeding zones, Much of sub-saharan Africa is in desperate poverty as the desert advances, because the ecology of the area was not maintained. Even in the U.S. there are signs. All sorts of lumber-jacks in the northwest are in a snit, not because of govt. regulations, but because they destroyed the forests they had available in a short term irresponsible way. Hate to even mention the fate of fishermen, they're going to be museum specimens soon if the trends are not changed.
