Mumbai, March 3 (Bloomberg) -- India's Global Tele-Systems Ltd. sold an additional 1.26 percent of Global Electronic Commerce Services Ltd., a privately held unit, to mutual funds.

Global Tele-Systems -- which develops, manufactures and sells telecommunications products and systems -- received 500 million rupees ($11.4 million) from the Morgan Stanley Mutual Fund and India Magnum Fund.

Global Tele-systems will use the money to repay debts incurred in its e-commerce projects.

In December, the company sold 5 percent of its 12.4 percent stake in Global Electronic, which develops e-commerce solutions for the telecommunications company. The promoters of Global Tele own 40 percent of Global Electronic.

Global Tele, which has risen 174 percent this year, rose 8 percent to 2,627 rupees on the Mumbai stock exchange.
