Peter, same question here, don't think there's a simple answer. Here's a thread for Royal Bank Action Direct complaints:
Message 13049622
and one for Schwab (US crowd has complaints)
Subject 17800

but I feel the Cdn Schwab is perhaps the answer as the min. acct is $10k which may help.
I have a Schwab application but haven't taken action yet.
Let us know what you decide, we all need direction.
John.

Try InvestorLine. Few years ago I had problem with Greenline and my market order somehow was delayed for more than 1/2 hour. I called and the agent could not tell me why. When I talked to a supervisor, his manner was really bad. He didn't want to find out why my market order was delayed. He told me that he had no time to deal with a small account which traded penny stocks. Sure, my account was small at that time and I traded penny stocks but I did a lot of trades.

I moved my account to InvestorLine after that and I have no problem. Right now, InvestorLine also suffer staff shortage and sometimes its internet site has problem, but when I talk to my friends who have accounts with Greenline, I think InvestorLine is still better than Greenline.
