<IF the 1 GHz Athlon from Austin is launched, its performance will be severely degraded because of the slower L2 cache problem.>

Theoretically the performance of Athlon will stink at any speed, but it doesn't matter because AMD can't manufacture them, and even if they could they wouldn't run faster than 300 MHz, because the AMD process is too slow, and besides that East Germans are too lazy to build chips, and Intel has Merced on the way, and Willamette will kill AMD, and AMD parts are not reliable, and Microsoft does not support AMD, and Intel has 300 fabs cranking out about 1 billion parts per week, and businesses will never buy from AMD, and their headquarters is rented, and their debt rating is terrible.

Scumbria,

So AMD might as well give it up and sell everything to the highest bidder!!
