In a previous Iridium press release, McCaw's $5 mill of actual cash infusion (down from his initial $75MM promise)was stated to keep the joint running until March 6. So, unless there's some other heretofore unknown source of DIP financing (since MOT has said many times it ain't them), next week may be "Iridium - The Final Days." Although in the S/T a switch from Chap 11 to 7 by Iridium will put another black-eye on the whole industry, G* will have a two year minimum monopoly in this space. As ccryder observed in #10470, because of the handset cost, switching barriers (at least for a good while longer) are a whole lot higher in this space than with terrestrial wireless, whenever ICO/TELED gets rolling.
