Right. I've only been a CyberCorp/Penson client for a month or so. I've never traded so large as to invoke margin, nor have I ever carried positions overnight; yet I've been assessed margin charges at Pension, based I must assume on short positions I've taken. Something isn't right. Will call Penson Monday morning.

That sounds like American Express Brokerage.
They dump the proceeds into the "Cash" account
and continue charging you margin at just about
twice the rate you earn in the Cash Account.
Unless, of course, they have lost your shares (again)
and you can't even sell them ...........
