Kash - RE: "Let the GAMES begin:AMD moves to 1-GHz on Monday"

This was pretty much expected.

Intel first said this month, then AMD said this month. Intel said Wednesday, AMD is now saying Monday (of course these dates are from "sources"). There is NO WAY Intel will wait until Wednesday now. The Wednesday date doesn't even make sense for a new processor. It may have come out to see the reaction. Monday, March 6, AMD and Intel will announce their 1GHz processors.

The only race now is who gets the official announcement out earliest on Monday!

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if one or the other releases the press thing on Sunday!

AMD will try to trump Intel by releasing a 1-GHz Athlon processor on Monday, sources said today, although it's a good bet that Intel will try to move up the release of their one-gig chip to the beginning of the week as well.

Kash,

Well its only my opinion but I think both companies are looking pretty stupid.
