Kash, <AMD introduce 1GHZ in a few days>

Didn't AMD say that they won't introduce 1 GHz processors until they have built up sufficient volume? I don't think even AMDroids are expecting a flood of 1 GHz Athlons to make it to store shelves anytime soon.

OK, so we're probably not going to see 1 GHz Pentium III's in stores anytime soon, either. But the claim that AMD was now above Intel in "phantom launches" is hogwash.

YOU ASKED:AMD moves to 1-GHz on Monday

Yeah. What a joke. AMD will trickle out the seven 1-GHz processors that they've made and there'll be no machines available using them, while Intel will come out with theirs a couple of days later with immediately availability through three or four manufacturers, but AMD will be declared the "winner" by the moronic press.
