Posting from Yahoo board: Optical Fiber Conference in Baltimore 2 (March 7 to 9th) Efficient architecture for a duplex multi-stage optical non-blocking switch, Philip Lin, Tellabs Operations, USA. This paper proposes a novel architec-ture for an optical cross-connect based on full duplex switches t hat support reciprocal traffic. The architec-ture is based on a Clos switch and is proven to be non-blocking. The number of basic devices needed for it is about half the number needed in a conventional one-way architecture.
