Trigger locks are OK by me but I will not depend on them and do not wish to buy or pay for them. I lock my guns up more securely. Hope everyone feels good about that.

The vast majority of these situations have nothing to do with criminals as you well know. An honest law biding parent has a
gun in the house and a child finds it....

Accidental deaths involving a gun with children under 14 was 185 according to a DOJ report in 1997. The figures the President uses of 13 gun deaths per day includes children to the age of 19 and includes murders, accidents and suicides (the suicides account for 50% of the totals)

Many states have laws already requiring guns to be secured from access (read locked) by children. Amazingly Washington D.C. is not one of them. Go to CNN site and they have a nice map and interactive site that informs on various gun laws.

Bottom line gun nuts just don't give a damn We are not asking you to give up your precious gun, no registration ...What the
hell would it hurt?........

I'll tell you when I'll believe this administration doesn't want registration...never. If they ever mention something about gun education for children, let me know (that's cynicism to me). People that demonize guns are the real nuts, at least to me.

The death of the little girl is a nightmare. The tragedy extends to the unfortunate life of the "child" murderer. And then we have the "adults", the criminals.

I guess we have a deal. You can have the trigger locks and I can avoid registering my guns. Handguns of course have to be registered. Strangely, felons do not have to register fully automatic weapons as they would be violating their 5th Amendment rights.http://www.shadeslanding.com/firearms/cramer.haynes.html

If it seems gun owners don't care or are cynical it's because we are portrayed as "nuts" and attacked as if "we" are the problems. Over 400,000 Brady violations (Perjury) and you would be shocked to find out how few have been prosecuted. If you are curious I will get the exact figures.

Gordon
