"By the way - SUN's 100 Processor system was supposed to be a 1000 processor system based on the
UltraSparc III.

The UltraSparc III was due in mid 1998. It still doesn't work - and is TWO YEARS LATE !!!!"

The new 100 processor Sun box is in extended field test,
I would bore you but you can read more about it
on the Sun web site. I want to say the 1000 processor
box (I believe code named Millenium but I may be off there)
is a few years out. After all , no one I know of is
talking about a 1000 processor box in the next 2 years.

"By the way - please list the new Alpha Design Wins - outside of Compaq."

How about their main design partner? The one they
are spending $500 million together designing Alphas?

Here read about these two versions of EV68:

"One is 'standard' EV-68 in 0.18um copper SOI at 1.5 GHz
using 8 MB external L2 DDR-SSRAM (which can provide either 1 GHz or 750 MHz or 500 MHz data rate depending on budget), and integrated Samsung version which has no external cache, but built-in 2 MB of full-speed L2 cache (again 1.5 GHz) on-die! It also has only a 250+ pin package..."

There's your 1.5 GHz parts to match old slick Willy.

By the way, did you read about Compaq's win of a 5
TeraFlop European SuperComputer? Pretty fast huh?
EV68 parts in it... imagine it will get quite a bit
faster when those snappy EV7's from IBM ship.
