Generally, Product Liability Insurance rarely covers the cost of repairing the product, a sprinkler head here. It would cover damage to other property, of which the product is not a component, or person caused by a faulty product. Tyco may be able to lay the costs of a recall off on a parts supplier, which in this case may be the supplier of the o-rings. It is also possible that the defect, it there is one as it seems, is the result of a subcontractor's work.
