Jeffrey, agree with your observations on trend, etc. regarding the AAII & II polls, they are notoriously unreliable. looking back over the past year or so, both have made all-time highs regularly. however, they are just opinions, which are liable to change in a heartbeat. the Rydex ratios and p/c ratios are much truer measures of sentiment, because they show you what people are doing (or rather, have already done) with their money, as opposed to what they're saying. of course they are not precise timing tools...but they warn that the current trend might be close to exhaustion. regards, hb
