greg - Re: ". What do you think of the theory that Intel is the best W2K play? Intel receives direct benefit and doesn't have the cloud hanging over it that msft does."

I think Intel is and will be benefitting greatly from Windows 2000.

However, Microsoft has been beaten down recently (except for the past two trading days) and I think they will benefit immensely.

As Windows 2000 gets "wrung out", it will be migrating into the higher and LOWER segments of the market place. Not only into more 4 and 8-way and 16-way servers, but into more and more business desktops and laptops.

Remember - Microsoft gets additional sales besides the OS - with their Back Office-type application products - which generate a lot of revenue.

Microsoft is going to do exceptionally well - and my guess is that once the DOJ action is settled, Microsoft will be Northbound in a big way.

Greg,

New product announcements keep piling on top of each other.

Very true:

"With the 1GHz chip coming by the end of the month, that means AMD's 900MHz and 950MHz Athlon chips will be announced at the same time as the 1GHz Athlon"
