Paul, Novell still does not "get it" with respect to the Internet security. To put thing into perspective I am neither long nor short Novell but am a long time CNE which also holds a MCSE, & CCNA who likes Novell technology. I am the security officer of my organization. The premire organization responsible for training security (internet)people worldwide is SANS (www.sans.org). I have been going to their conferences for the last 2 years. A look at the list of attendees is quite revealing. (Whitehouse, CIA, FBI, Pentigon, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, NATO, European arm forces, depts. of the US govt, depts of state govts, universities, banks, ISPs, major tech companies [sun, cisco, microsoft, hp, ibm, lucent, nortel], telphone companies, security auditing firms, ...) Wow, a captive audience with deep pockets. The surprising thing is that Novell is not represented here at all! They are not part of the teaching staff, they are not a sponser, they don't send any employees, hell ... they don't even show up as a vendor. One can learn to secure networks of unix and microsoft flavors but not Novell. I think Novell relies too much on Brainshare. I know, at one time networking revolve around this but not anymore. If you want good network training you will not go to Brainshare, especially if you're already in the security community. Why Novell can't figure this out is beyond me.
