E, first of all, I am not ready to believe those quotes verbatim, unless you at least post the source. Second, I am not about to get caught up in defending Pat Robertson and everything he may or may not have said. I simply don't believe he is as dangerous a person as you say. And I don't believe, simply because a private meeting took place, that he has some kind of grip like control of George W Bush and what he may or may not do in the future. I could be wrong. And although right now you're completely convinced of the evil nature of this meeting. So could you. It seems much more logical to me that George W simply had a meeting, exchanged some pleasantries and views, found some common ground. And was happy to get a few more votes. Because, although you see everyone of the Pat Robertson follows as some kind of mind numbed swindled robots. I see them mostly as religios people who have found a comfortable home and faith to follow. Not much different than thousands of other churches and religios followers in the country. Freedom to practice the faith of ones choosing is an important concept to me, and I have a lot of tolerance toward different religions. I would also be willing to bet, if you cared to look objectively at the 700 club, they have done a lot of really wonderful charitable things to help people too. Otherwise, they wouldn't have the following they do. I happen to believe in the intelligence of the American people. Most religious organizations are more about the people working in them, then about one leader. The same holds true for Catholics. The Pope may be the leader, but the church is really made up of the synergistic interactions of its members. I am curious, have you ever actually visited Pat Robertson's church or spoken to one of their followers? Michael

Keep up the informative posts on Robertson and his minions, E. Good work. McCain gets attacked for calling this bizarro the jackass that he is--nothing like the truth to upset people. McCain then to save his campaign in this strange country had to say: "just kidding--it was a joke"--but you know he meant it, he hadn't been joking. It may have been politically unwise for McCain to attack Robertson given the rank idiocy and philistinism of Robertson's numerous followers in this strange country, but at least he can't be faulted for sucking up to this lunatic like Bush. Why is it that some of these "Christians" are either so comical or so nasty that the last one on earth or in heaven they remind you of is Jesus Christ? Robertson's secret god is not Christ, but Caesar, and Mammon. You KNOW with the way he acts that he can't really believe in Jesus Christ.
