As the job is nearly done, the poor boy turns and realizes he is in a corner with wet paint all around.

Unfortunately, when the mistake is finally recognized all will soon be forgotten and he'll be doing the same thing all over again.

That is the way of floor painting and market predictions.

"Oh, well, guess I made a mistake...but I'm happy because I'm long or still have a portion of xyz or never sold my original position or blah, blah, blah, blah..."

The cost of production capacity being less than optimal is often more than the cost of inventory buildup. With huge fixed capital cost yields are critical. Build it then it will sell it as opposed to leaving manufacturing lines down and continuing to pay salaries to QPE employees with nothing to to. Any inventory after the KYO sale close was bought by KYO.
