**OT** Informative article in NY Times by Celia Dugger but she got couple of things not very right.

Contrary to what is stated families or individuals whose annual income is in the $4,000-$6,000 range can certainly afford car if they wanted to,all they have to do is get one of them 'small jobs' form these guys (see link below), the price range is anywhere from $7,000-$10,000.00. If they don't have the money saved up yet they can certainly get one on credit which is available in plenty. Also buying a used car is another easy option.

Also she quoted someone who said 'few Indians can swim',not very true. It is like saying 'few Americans have seen a live farm animal'. Both could be somewhat true if the statements were made in reference to urban dwellers. I,for example, come from a state 'awash' in rivers, lakes and surrounded by oceans and most of us know how to swim very well, thank you :)

I am nitpicking, aren't I? but what the heck I thought I get that out of my system.

Anyway the gist of the article which is about the rising middle class is certainly a welcome news since they make up the backbone of a country. The more the middle-class the better the economy they say.

Thanks for posting the link to the article.
