Scumbria, the gigathlon launch vs. the gigamine paper launch is going to be quite entertaining, and I imagine that Paul "Athwipe" Engel with have this thread seriously under siege as it unfolds. The athwipe man apparently doesn't put much stock in pricewatch.com vs. pricewatch.com, along with many other indicators. Maybe Intel will get a routing list set up for the 3-4 gigamine systems they had at IDF (boxed and ready to ship!), so they can claim they're shipping "in volume". As long as nobody keeps one for more than a day.

The thing that still has me confused about mighty Intel is the chipset/Rambus mess. Unless they're subsidizing Dell like mad, the Rambus thing must have Mikey climbing the walls more than the mhz war. Intel can probably flood the market with cheap 600mhz cumines and make plenty of money, while they FUD around till Willy's in production, but the devotion to Rambus doesn't seem to have any near term solution. Of course, it's what the customers want, except for those silly server guys.

Cheers, Dan.
