That could put a dent in summertime vacation plans! I know some folks with an RV who aren't sure if they want to go on vacation this year. They typically go 10,000-15,000 miles with an average mileage of 7 MPG. It's not even a particularly large RV.

Seriously, that's an amazin' number, and I suspect it's pretty common all over highly socialized, and over taxed Europe. The article you cited in today's ODB suggested the best way to lower gasoline prices was to lower taxes on the product. Makes sense.

I just went down to my basement and asked my super Cray probability computer what the odds were that govts. would lower taxes on gas. It came up with strangest answer I've ever seen! It said:

"A snowballs chance in Hell, pal." <vbg>
