Have worked with Neural nets for past 12 years in engineering and business applications and they work well... However, when applied to the stock market they perform poorly, ... We put all R/D on hold using Nets in regards to the stock markets...Reseaon, Nets require a history and relative longer time cycles to provide accurate conclusions...and in a changing economy where analysis are captured monthly or quarterly ... Nets under perform... LTCM...Long-term Capital Management failed because their models, which where formed using Nets, could not reach proper conclusions over very short rapid dynamic changing time cycles as we have in today's changing economies ... Have followed this thread from day 2...Good thread and good ideas...when applied to stable environments just an opinion
