You might have something there, Janice. The retarded man's parents would go way out of their way to protect him because "he didn't know what he was doing." I'm sure the police questioned all of them but if the parents lied for him, then who knows. The parents would've had to dispose of the bloody clothes, shoes and knife. I'm sure they could have convinced him that he had a bad dream and that it never happened. If this is what really happened the police still wouldn't have a case without the physical evidence unless the parents confessed.
