#7. "All discussions shall be conducted in a cordial and respectful manner"

From the starting page of this thread.

The unwarranted personal insults lobbed to me yesterday were certainly not in that spirit. Disagree fine, but calling names out of frustration is not appropriate, much less sending snide private messages as well saying the same.

I'm sorry that I do not have the sophistication or success rate of the experts here. This thread looked interesting to visit from the headline on the Go2Net home page, but when reading it became immediately apparent it was a big Oso den. So I stated my opinion, nothing whatsoever directed to any particular persons, but just to wrong way bears in general. I did not realize that differing opinions were grounds for name calling.

I will leave this thread alone, and will not read any further. Please do not insult any further, that includes personal inbox messages as well. Thank you.

p.s. Bobbi Beara: I have never skate or snow boarded in my life, nor have I downhill skiied. I travel to Tahoe to tend to family and business issues. Thanks for your concern, but not your stereotype failed attempt at personal directed sarcasm.

tahoe bound -

I think the reaction you received is not surprising. First off, I don't think you can get the tone of this thread from reading a few postings. Secondly, some folks here bristle at being called a perma bear as this typically suggests one is making some statement without grounds or that their views are wholly without merit.

Say for a minute that the market does crash in some apocalyptic fashion -- will that make the "perma bears" suddenly right? Sure it will. That others have made huge profits from the market in the interim does not invalidate the thesis or position some hold. And if it never happens? I guess they'll be dead and wrong.

I'm just an opportunist and I do not think I am at all alone here. I have no qualms extracting $ from the market despite any opinion I may hold about it. I got into market timing to make money; that I believe the tech bubble will burst one day is immaterial - nothing in the setups I trade starts off with "Is the market over/under valued?"

There's some excellent thinking and analysis going on here - of value to "bears" and "bulls", and neutral folks, alike.
