McCain's record is being distorted. But the American public is too ignorant to study these issues on their own, so they must rely on 30-second paid political ads. Whoever has more money to toss out more sound bites has a big upper hand. That's the real danger to our democracy as this money-hunt makes candidates more and more beholden to big money interests, whose concerns do not necessarily coincide with those of John Q. Public.

You prove one of two things: how easily duped people are--or how duplicitous you are. I can't tell. How black and white does it have to be for YOU too see that McCain has repeatedly voted FOR breast cancer and other medical research and that his opposition here was to this spending in a military appropriations bill. You are clearly no more interested in the truth than the people in Austin. Even I have been surprised at what a slippery sleazeball Dubya has turned out to be. If you can call Bush's ads not mendacious, if you can say they are even near being fair, then you and I have nothing to talk about because you'll believe anything. I might as well argue with people about alien visitors from the asteroid belt.

I have to rub my eyes and blink before I can really believe that I'm sitting here arguing with fringe-libertarian ideologues who are defending pork-barrel spending?!?!

e-Bill, Perhaps it is time for us to stop the damnable Medical treatments that do not work and put the $$$$$$$
in Preventing these diseases.. The ALTERNATIVE MEDECINE
is moving at lightening speed or haven't you heard :-)
I have a daughter with MS and I have seen it all in that
arena. My sister came close to having a Radical Mastectomy until she found a physician who did a Lumpectomy on her and found that it had not spread. BIG DIFFERENCE, and a step backward. into preventing and I don't give a damn who cuts out the LEGAL DRUG TRAFFIC ..IT IS WORSE THAN THE LEGAL..
I came close too losing my life twice at their Butchering
Hands...
