I am proud to own a US$3 stock with more billions of shares outstanding than Cister, Mr. Softee, and INTC. If there were only a few million shares outstanding it wouldn't be worth much, would it.
I am proud that I can count and multiply and divide. The nominal value of a share bothers me not in the least. I hate those stocks that are so high in nominal value that they have to split again and again to stay within a reasonable price (or collapse of their own dead weight like BRK.A). I figure we have a long time to enjoy PCCW's growth. Despising US$3 stocks from HK is merely chauvinism. If HK wants to use toy money that's perfectly okay with me.
I like owning thousands and thousands of shares in one of the most interesting companies on the market. It makes me feel rich!
