bgr, i wouldn't use the term conspiracy. policy more aptly describes it. keeping the us stock amrket hopping is a key part of everyone's policy. why? if the us goes into a recession, what will that do to japan and asia? it will hurt them. it also would hurt europe, albeit, not as much.

i have no doubt that alan greenspan's intent was to drastically increase liquidity ahead of y2k (he did) and them reduce it after (he didn't). he even said as much going into y2k.

however, he didn't expect all that dough to go into the market. it did. since keeping the market stable is #1 or #2 on his policy list, he won't take out the liquidity.

nothing sinister here. just unannounced policy. watch actions, not words, for true policy. i used to believe alan's words and got consistently burned.

there is a cause to every effect.
