You don't want to hear my story about Bios Flash

I'm not a big fan of horror stories in general but, other people's computer nightmares seem to make me feel better -- try me!

I have heard though, that flashing the BIOS is a little bit risky. So far, I'm 2 for 2.

Could have bought The NV Bios from Abit for $10.

I don't understand this statement: why should you have to pay for a BIOS?

Thanks for that longish clip about win2k installing issues. One thing from it I take slight exception to:

If installing 2000 as a clean install, (no other OS on the drive and un-formatted) you need to set the Boot
Sequence to: CDROM - A- C in the BIOS.

You can also make the set of 4 boot disks from which to install win2k. I tried booting to the CDROM and it would not do it. I think that some motherboards are incapable of this, which is the reason for the boot disks (someone please correct me on this if I'm wrong)

If the current BIOS version is one of the following, it's BH6 v1.0x, fl->fn->gy->hn->jj->kg->kj->lh->ln->mv

If the following, it's BH6 v1.1, kk->lg->nk

That's good to know. Where did you find that info?

Slip an AOL CD (everyone has one of these <g>)

LOL! And I thought it was totally useless...
