OJ...re:crashes; I have a friend who has @HOme cable modem acess and tells me that turning the modem they install off every once in a while helps prevent crashes. The co. tells you not to turn it off when they install it. Can't say that I'm much impressed by the speed in son-in-law's @Home connection during just reg. hrs. good luck.

OJ, I just got Media One cable internet installed last week and am having similar problems. I am using IE 5.0 and Windows 98. I get "fatal exception" error and have to restart computer. Most of the time it happens on my brokerage site, but one thing for sure, it did not happen before I got the cable modem. Media One says Java script may be causing the problem, but I'm not sure. Some days it's fine, other days it happens repeatedly. I'll let you know if I figure it out.

John

OJ,

Being a trader and an on-line reader, I assume that you have Real Player as well... they normally come bundled with AOL Instant messenger which has an affininity for causing crashes in some sytems... it conflicts severely with Windows built-in messaging, or Hotmail "stuffs". If you have AOL Instant messenger and are not using it, I suggest you uninstall that one.

If you can PM me what you have loaded in your 'puter, I may be able to help. If you can print out your register content the better... you may have a HOG in there somewhere.

Best,
SF

OJ: I've got your problem figured out. Have your ever considered "sabotage"? Yup, someone out there, jealous of your success and notoriety and soon to be published picture is definitely lookin' to do you in or at the least slow you down. I have some suspects in mind, but no proof. Wanna buy my Compaq Pressario, cheap? (Lee)

Re: IE ...Firstly I hope Netscape works....but in your "free" time you might try IE again (if you really like it) but be sure to uninstall it prior to reinstalling... in upgrades not always are all files replaced and you could have some outdated ones hanging on...
